For a while we were thinking of going with a black diamond engagement ring because we thought it’d be cute to merge our last names (Darling and Kang) into Darkling. That’s all been scrapped now, along with the idea of a black diamond ring. It’s a little bit too dark for such a happy day and we’re really not dark people. We just like reading/watching/consuming dark media (horror, scifi, fantasy, etc). Not that those things are inherently dark. Well, except horror, which is. Also a black diamond would be harder to pluck out of the ring and re-incorporate into a new piece of jewelry (as Connie’s mom recommended) later on.
